My name is Anthony Beaston and I currently reside just outside of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I am a video editor by trade, a photographer at heart, and a part time graphic and web designer. If I’m not holding a camera, or staring at a screen, you can find me tucked in a narrow hemlock strewn hollow, swinging next to a trout stream in my hammock.

philosophy

The best edit is the one that’s never noticed. It doesn’t matter if it’s a documentary about esports or an Instagram video for HomeGoods, it should feel natural and effortless. Intrinsic to the source material. Undetectable. And the edit doesn’t start at the cut, it arrives there after a meticulous process of organizing and classifying. The better the organization, the better the cut.

work

I cut my editor teeth making music videos for my friends and I around the turn of the century. It wasn’t until I started Black Owl Outdoors with my brother that I really started honing my film craft.

I eventually became a full time commercial editor and have edited all types of video, from half hour documentaries to TikTok’s for national brands.  But my favorite thing to edit so far are probably proof of concept Sizzles to pitch television shows to networks.
