Pink Mall Wall

This series of photographs are dedicated to the benchmark of 90’s capitalism, the shopping mall. And I’m talking real malls, not these fake ass strip malls that have taken over. I’m talking door to door air conditioning and food courts, Suncoast Videos and Chess Kings. Ah, the days of collect calls from “I’m finished at the mall, pick me up by Sam Goody.” But I think more than anything, what I miss most is “new music Tuesdays”. Back in the 90’s I could barely contain my excitement walking into a record store on a Tuesday. What new album dropped? What was recently announced on the release board behind the cash register?

Photographed in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. 2019
